Iran Protests, Boston Common, October 2022
Boston, MA - Iranians gathered outside of the Massachusetts Statehouse in a protest against the Iranian government's strict hijab rules. They also called on the city of Boston to speak out and abandon any support it has to the Iranian government.
A woman chanted along with the other protestors. She held up 2-4 signs at once. This one reads: "Islamic Dictatorship Must End Now." The sign hanging on her neck reiterates some of the words stated in the chant: "Down with the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Himan Namdari stood outside the wired gate surrounding the Statehouse and said "It's like the Berlin Wall, we've got to break it down again." The cause they are protesting for needs more support, he said.
Another woman signs her name on a white piece of cardboard dedicated to Mahsa Amini, an Iranian woman who was arrested and beaten to death after she was caught by government officials for wearing an "improper" hijab, a violation to the Republic's law.
